ICEA COSMOS NATURAL

ICEA is a non-profit consortium involving institutions, associations, companies and civil society organizations, which for over twenty years have contributed to the dialogue and promoted the development of organic farming in Italy even before it became normed.

It verifies and certifies several thousand companies that work in respect of people and the environment, protecting the dignity of workers and the rights of consumers.

The specification COSMOS has two possible levels of certification “Cosmos Organic” and Cosmos “Natural”. Obviously, the first level is more stringent and demanding because it integrates the requirements of naturalness and green chemistry with the use of significant quantities (and declared on the label) of components of organic farming . To get the Cosmos Organic certification mark at least 20% of the total of the ingredients must be organic. An exception is rinsing products and products that contain at least 80% of ingredients of mineral origin (in this case the limit drops to 10%). The ingredients of agricultural derivation physically transformed present in the formula, must instead be organic at least for 95%. Cosmetic products that , while presenting natural raw materials, do not reach high levels of organic in formula , can only be certified as natural in this case the label “ Cosmos Natural ” appears on the label and the percentage of organic raw materials in the formula can be indicated.
